Membership Cancellation / Suspension

How can I cancel my membership?

Ordinary Termination:

To terminate your membership, you would need to send a written letter to the club holding the contract holder’s signature. A 3 calendar-month notice is required, ending on the last day of the month, and only when the minimum duration period is completed (12 or 24 months minimum).

Extraordinary Termination:

It can arrive that under certain conditions the membership can be terminated before the minimum duration with a 1 calendar month notice. The follow conditions must be met:

Professional transfer with proof from employer

A personally initiated move falls under the regulation for ordinary termination (even if the member leaves the federal state). If a move is necessary due to a job transfer, an extraordinary termination can be submitted by providing evidence

Serious illness and with the presentation of a medical certificate

  • Established Illness: Before a membership can be terminated for cause, the existence of an illness must have been established by a doctor. From an objective point of view, an illness must be present.
  • Unforeseen circumstances : The illness must have reached a degree which, from an objective point of view, makes participation in training unreasonable and therefore an absolute ban on sport exists and a suspension of membership is out of the question due to the duration and severity of the illness.
  • Unexpected: Illnesses that existed before the contract was concluded cannot be used as a reason for extraordinary termination.

For 24-month contracts, early termination is possible after 12 months with a 24% pro rata compensation payment and a three-calendar month notice period.
